Ahhh, autumn! My favorite season of the year! Here in the hot desert of Southern Utah it is always so refreshing to feel the crispness in the air! Two of my sons play high school football (freshman and varsity), so attending two games per week adds to the fall excitement! I hope you too are enjoying the richness of this autumn season! ~ Read on for a great article about "buts."

Featured Article: "But" Reduction

Do you ever let your "buts" get in the way of living your dreams? I think we all fall into this at times.

  • I could have accomplished that BUT...
  • I know this relationship is not healthy for me BUT...
  • I would have such-and-such in my life BUT...
  • I really do believe in myself BUT...
  • I know I could do that if I put forth the effort BUT...
  • I'm really committed to losing this extra weight BUT...
  • I know I should start exercising again BUT...
  • I know my skills are worth more money and I should raise my fees BUT...
  • Ten minutes of daily meditation could really help me BUT...

If we aren't careful we can "but" ourselves right out of our own potential! Many times we may not even be aware how often these excuses rear their ugly little heads in our lives. Make a mental note to be more consciously aware of anytime this excuse comes up. One simple exercise is to change the BUT to the word AND.

  • I know this relationship is not healthy for me AND I have the self-love to do something about it.
  • I know I could do that if I put forth the effort AND I now have the courage to do it
  • I really do believe in myself AND when negative self-talk gets in the way, I naturally replace it with a positive thought about myself.
  • I'm really committed to losing this extra weight AND I am now eating smaller portions of healthier foods.
  • I know I should start exercising again AND I find a form of exercise that is gentle enough to do with my particular physical problem (ps—Tai Chi is do-able regardless of any health ailment!)
  • Ten minutes of daily meditation could really help me AND I now get up a little earlier each day in order to give myself that gift.

Wow, look what a difference one little word makes! Using the word AND gives you the opportunity to be accountable to do something about it, instead of being a victim and putting the problem outside your control. Only you have the power to change your circumstances by changing your statement of them.

Try this exercise: list on paper any goals, dreams, projects that you are having trouble following through with, or that you regret not accomplishing. See how often that feeling of BUT I can't do that because... comes up. Here's the fun part - simply discard the word BUT and replace it with AND, then complete the sentence with a positive ending. Simply put, BUT closes the door, AND opens the door. Now the door is open…trust yourself and walk through it!

For those of you new to my subscriber list, here is a brief explanation of what Calyco Healing is:

It is a gentle yet profound way of healing that I created through years of study, working on clients, intuition, and a lot of answers to prayers! This technique can clear years of trauma, be it negative past experiences, childhood sorrows, or ancestral belief patterns (we ALL carry those!).

Calyco Healing is a non-invasive way to literally re-program your thinking, rewire you at the DNA level, and open yourself up to clearly and consciously connecting with your beautiful, authentic self. It literally "lightens your burden" by releasing the old, heavy energies and replacing that void with love, forgiveness, joy, truth, peace!

For the past few years, my schedule has been so full with private sessions, that it is becoming very clear to me that I need to teach others these healing arts. I have a dream, and I know it's a big one: a healer in every household—or at least every neighborhood! What a great world that would be!

PLEASE know, I am well aware that I am simply a witness to this work. The things I have learned and now teach others have come to me by study and work, yes, but more importantly, by inspiration. So I feel safe in saying - without any arrogance - that I have been in this field for many years and researched many other healing modalities, and cannot find any other training that is as comprehensive, and clears as deeply, as Calyco Healing. Add to that the quickness and ease of the techniques and it is an invaluable life-long tool! And, my trainings are much more affordable than many other energy-healing programs that do not cover as many different aspects as Calyco.

You do not have to be, or even aspire to be in the healing arts profession. Many of my class participants take the trainings just so they can work on themselves and their families. And yes, anyone can learn it! Read on for the upcoming schedule.
